Mιgнту Ƒαує Ƒιяєcαѕтєя (mightymidge) is The SL Parade’s newest writer! Acting as a voice for SL Children, Mιgнту Ƒαує Ƒιяєcαѕтєя demonstrates that there is far more to an SL Child than meets the eye!
Halloween is a fun holiday for everyone, but especially if you are a kid in Second Life. The hard part though is finding things in Second Life that are family friendly and open to SL kid avatars. For my first article as kid writer here at The SL Parade, I decided that I would do a little exploring…and happened upon a couple of places that I believe kids and their parents would enjoy.
My first pick is called Halloween Town! To visit this SIM, please click on the following link: (http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Townies/119/103/99)
I have been to this event at least twice in my time on SL and I always have a blast. You pretty much travel from section to section and each is outfitted to display a scene from a scary movie…from “The Exorcist,” to “Silence of the Lambs” to “Jaws.” There is also bags in each area with Halloween themed free gifts and even some poses to take pics with family scattered throughout as well.
My second pick is Sweet Tots Annual Halloween Hunt!

This is run by the owner of Sweet Tots Sweetiepie RIggles. She has scattered a ton of gifts for visitors hidden in pumpkins throughout her mall and in a special spooky area she decorated next door. To start the hunt you click a box on the left side of the Sweet Tots entrance and it gives you a folder with a TON of stuff inside including a flashlight. The owners of some of the stores in her mall also have put a pumpkin in their stores with a free gift as well!
Last but definitely not least is the Prichard project!

Every year a group of people get together and create an old fashioned murder mystery. It is your job job as a detective to solve the case. When you first land you must go to the sheriff and pick up a case file. From there you use it to collect items that spawn at random throughout the town as well as interview townspeople. Each year the case is different so it’s never the same place or people twice. Make sure to take off any unnecessary items like bling or AOs as the case file keeps track of your script count and won’t let you access it until your count is low enough.
This is by no means a full list of ALL the Halloween attractions out there for families, but these are the ones that stuck out the most to me. I hope you all have a spooktacular Halloween!
