A rousing success, the first annual Break Beatz Entertainment and Ghost D Productions was held on Saturday, May 28, 2016 from 6 PM to 8 PM SLT, and attracted well over 84 patrons, 25 sponsors, and an array of individuals who took photos in honor of this beautiful gala. Featuring a plethora of dancing and an array of music, The Purple Ball featured DJ Spice, DJ Ghost D and DJ India, and also featured a special guest performance by Ambrosia Kamala Sapphire. Hosted by Loven Blueblood and Cap, formal attire was a necessary must for all in attendance.
According to IamDrazz Umia-Delgado, Chief Executive at Break Beatz Entertainment, The Purple Ball raised $157,614Ls…all of which will be donated to the nonprofit Fibromyalgia and Chronic Pain organization. Though the lag presented a challenge to many of those in attendance, it did not stop the camaraderie and warmth present at this event. Yet, what made this event so special was the genuineness of all of those involved. Indea Marie Vaher says, “ I love the premise of it. It was very well done with class and integrity…the decor was also fabulous. The event was well coordinated. There were a lot of people there, who showed they cared…”
Myasia Bugatti Gans also had a favorable reaction to the Purple Ball. This reaction stems from her own personal challenges with Fibromyalgia and Chronic Pain. On her Facebook page, Gans offers a heartfelt testimony about her personal experiences with these illnesses. She explains:
“….A few of my close friends know I suffered for 3 years with nonstop pain in my legs. Even fewer knew that I caught blood clots in my legs and was in ICU for 2 weeks….with the help of 3 hospitals and 2 rehabs, the pain is subsiding….it’s just a matter of getting around again, which I try to work on everyday….even if I don’t get up I do sit ups, legs ups, anything to keep my legs going. Yes, it can cause depression and when I felt that happening to me I turned to God….He gave me the strength to fight and I praise him every day for that. I may not be where I want to be, but I’m not turning back because I’m pushing ahead. At the Purple gala, finally someone was feeling me…knowing me…and seeing people that are just like me was like a breath of fresh air. I will continue to follow this cause and make every event God willing. Thank you for shining a little light on my world and thank you sissy Ambrosia Kamala Sapphire for inviting me!”
As proud sponsors of the Purple Ball, The SL Parade looks forward to aligning our nonprofit with this event next year! We also wanted to give a special shout out to Silky Hansome, who wanted to attend but was unable to make it…ReRe Sandalwood said she will be sure to send Silky a personal TP for next year’s Purple Ball :)!
